The Ohio State University is a diverse community of people and ideas. As part of the university’s commitment to diversity, Ohio State aims to be a standard of excellence for employment equity in higher education.
The Office of Institutional Equity oversees the university’s strategies and compliance efforts related to employment equity, including Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity. This oversight includes coordination and enforcement of the Ohio State’s Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity, and Non-Discrimination/Harassment policy.
Affirmative Action is the university’s proactive employment efforts to recruit, hire, retain, and advance all qualified individuals, including minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and covered veterans, as required of federal contractors. (OSU is a federal contractor.)
