To enhance the safety and well-being of the Ohio State community, all Ohio State faculty, staff and students are required to complete sexual misconduct prevention education each academic year.
This prevention education addresses sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, relationship violence, and stalking, provides tools to challenge and report harmful behavior, and information on how to support someone who has experienced sexual misconduct.
Promoting the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff is Ohio State's top priority and a responsibility we all share. At Ohio State, there is no place for sexual misconduct or discrimination of any kind.
Faculty, staff, and student employee requirements:
All employees: Annually, all faculty, staff, and student employees are required to complete the sexual misconduct prevention online course, “Report = Support!” The interactive, easy-to-follow course takes about 30 minutes to complete and is available in BuckeyeLearn. It will be assigned to every employee’s BuckeyeLearn transcript each year.
“Report = Support!” will be assigned to all faculty, staff and student employee BuckeyeLearn transcripts and the completion deadline is April 25, 2025.
It is important for everyone to know how to identify and report sexual misconduct.
All Ohio State employees, including student employees, are required to complete this course each academic year to fulfill the mandatory requirement and remain up-to-date on reporting obligations and resources.
Each employees’ BuckeyeLearn transcript will reflect the training required for your role. Wexner Medical Center employees can also view education requirements on OneSource.
Student employees/graduate assistants/employees enrolled in classes: Student employees and employees enrolled in classes are required to complete obligations for both their student roles and employee roles. Required trainings will be reflected on their BuckeyeLearn transcripts.
- All employees, including student employees, need to annually complete “Report = Support!” each year they are employed by the university.
- All students and employees enrolled in classes are required to complete “U Got This!/U Got This 2!” the student sexual misconduct prevention education online course.
Employee Accountability: Any merit-eligible employee (staff and faculty) who does not complete the assigned course* by April 25, 2025, will not be eligible if annual merit increases are available this year. Employees not eligible for the merit process and collective bargaining employees will be subject to corrective action for non-completion in accordance with university policy, procedure, and collective bargaining agreements when applicable.

Student requirements:
All students are required to complete the online course, “U Got This!/U Got This 2!” annually. All incoming students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional) and returning undergraduate students will complete U Got This!. All returning graduate and professional students will complete U Got This 2! The interactive, easy-to-follow course takes approximately 45-60 minutes and is available in BuckeyeLearn. It will be assigned to every student’s BuckeyeLearn transcript each year.
Incoming students (first-year and transfer students) must complete the education course in order to register for the next spring/fall semester.
Student employees/graduate assistants/employees enrolled in classes: Student employees and employees enrolled in classes are required to complete obligations for both their roles. These requirements are outlined below.

What does the sexual misconduct prevention course cover?
“Report = Support!” informs employees how to recognize sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, relationship violence and stalking, provides tools to address, disrupt and report sex- and gender-based misconduct, and outlines available support resources.
How will this education help me?
As a faculty or staff member, your role within the university community is key in keeping Ohio State safe for everyone.
Knowing how to identify and prevent sexual misconduct, access support services and resources, and understand reporting responsibilities are all ways you can have a positive impact on campus. These training courses will help you to think deeply about these issues as well as equip you with the information you need to care for yourself and others.
“Report = Support!” was created specifically for faculty and staff — and with faculty and staff input — by Catharsis, a national industry expert.
Where can I access the training course?
The course will be assigned and tracked through BuckeyeLearn. You can access the training by logging in to https://buckeyelearn.osu.edu with your Ohio State University or Wexner Medical Center credentials. Once you are logged in, select the “My Transcript” button on the BuckeyeLearn homepage. How can I confirm that I completed the required course?
If you have already completed the course, you can verify on your completed transcript in BuckeyeLearn by changing the “Active” button at the top of the transcript page to “Completed.” You can also verify your completion with your college/unit Human Resources Professional. If it says, “in progress” or “registered,” the training is not complete. Revisit and complete the module or contact equityeducation@osu.edu for assistance.
How long will I have to complete the course?
You are encouraged to take this course as soon as possible. It is important for everyone to know how to identify, disrupt and report sexual misconduct.
Becoming familiar with these issues and the resources available to you as early as possible is critical to preventing sexual misconduct.
The deadline to complete the course is April 25, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. You must have the training completed by 11:59 p.m. If you start the training before 11:59 p.m., but do not finish the training before 11:59 p.m., the completion will not register, and will not be accepted.
When does the course close?
The course will be assigned and tracked through BuckeyeLearn, and the deadline to complete it is April 25, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. The course will not be available after this deadline.
You must have the training completed by 11:59 p.m. If you start the training before 11:59 p.m., but do not finish the training before 11:59 p.m., the completion will not register, and will not be accepted.
How will the university monitor completion?
The course will be assigned and monitored through BuckeyeLearn. Additionally, college and unit leaders and human resources professionals will have access to the completion rates of their faculty, staff and student employees.
What will happen if I don’t complete the course by the deadline?
It is important for everyone to know how to identify, challenge and report sexual misconduct.
The course is required for all faculty, staff and student employees. The evaluation of your performance may reflect whether you completed this task, as is the case with any other job responsibility.
Will I be penalized if I was on approved leave or out of the office and was unable to complete the required training?
Unforeseen circumstances, such as approved leave, will be reviewed by the Office of Human Resources on a case-by-case basis.
Will my participation be public?
Individual completion of faculty, staff and student employees will not be shared broadly. However, the Office of Institutional Equity, the Office of University Compliance and Integrity, the Office of Student Life, the Office of Human Resources and relevant university staff will have the ability to review individual completion data. Information may also be released as required by law. The university will review any requests received to determine an appropriate response.
I am concerned about the content this training will cover. Can I be exempt from taking the session?

I don’t have contact with students in my daily job, do I still need to take the training?
Yes. Our campus community is committed to preventing and responding to sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking and sexual harassment. It’s also critical that we all know how to respond to these issues, because everyone has a right to a work and academic environment free of sexual misconduct.
I have never been impacted by sexual misconduct. Do I need to take the training?
Because we are all members of the same community, we are all impacted by sexual misconduct. Knowing how to identify these issues, access support services and resources, report and help prevent sexual misconduct are all ways you can have a positive impact on campus.
I completed this training at my former institution. Do I have to complete this one too?
Yes. While you may have taken a similar training at a prior institution, this training module has been tailored to our community and includes Ohio State-specific resources and policies.
Are employees permitted to take the trainings on the clock, or can I request that they do it on breaks and lunches?
This training is considered to be work performed by the employee, and departments should allow time for employees (including student employees) to complete the training as part of their work responsibilities. Promoting a safe and healthy campus climate for our students and for all members of the university community is a top priority at Ohio State. In addition to educating employees on how to fulfill their reporting obligations, Ohio State hopes this training course helps everyone think deeply about this topic.
Do I have to do the full training all at once?
While taking the training as soon as possible will help you understand all your rights and responsibilities as a member of the campus community, it is recommended that you take the training in one sitting and at your own pace. If you need to stop and restart, you may do so; however, the training may bring you back to the beginning of the module you are on rather than your exact place within it.
Can I take the training on a mobile device?

How can I report an incident of sexual misconduct?
All employees (faculty, staff, student-employees and graduate assistants) are required to report allegations of sexual assault immediately. Human Resources Professionals, supervisors (including faculty and volunteer supervisors), chairs/directors, and all faculty members have an additional obligation to report all other forms of sexual misconduct within 5 days. Because of their positions of authority, these individuals have a heightened responsibility to report sexual harassment. More information is available in the policy.

How do I find support resources available for victims of sexual misconduct, including sexual violence?
Many campus and community support resources are available for victims of sexual misconduct, including counseling, advocacy, medical, and legal options. Please visit the Title IX webpage for more information on how to access support resources and how to make a report with law enforcement and/or the university.
To speak with a confidential crisis advocate 24-hours a day, the Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio (SARNCO) sexual violence helpline at 614-267-7020. SARNCO advocates are also available on campus at 33 W 11th Avenue and via phone at 614-688-2518 during university business hours.
For free, confidential counseling services, students may contact Counseling and Consultation Service at 614-292-5766 and employees may contact the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at 614-292-4472.
Is the training ADA accessible?
An accessible version of “Report = Support!” is in the description of the training in BuckeyeLearn.
