Customized Facilitator-Led Training

The Office of Institutional Equity can provide customized training about the office, policies, and processes. Each session can be tailored to the needs of your group or community. In each session, representatives from OIE will discuss the expectation that all Buckeyes are free from protected class harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct. The session also includes tools so we can STEP UP to create an environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Recruitment and Selection Basics

This course provides an overview of the Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements that apply to the recruitment, selection, and hiring process. Attendees will be able to apply these legal requirements in future employment searches in line with Ohio State’s Shared Values.

Creating Equitable and Inclusive Position Descriptions

This course provides an overview of the key components of a position description and how they directly impact the diversity of applicant pools. Attendees will receive information on how to align physical, mental, language, educational, and other minimum requirements with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles. Participants will also learn how to reduce bias by identifying and correcting coded language in position descriptions.

Digital Accessibility Policy Training

The Digital Accessibility policy establishes minimum standards for the accessibility of Ohio State’s digital information and services, whether created by Ohio State or purchased for our use, as well as the reporting requirements necessary to ensure compliance with the university’s obligations under applicable state and federal laws and regulations. The policy ensures equal access to digital information and services for all university audiences, including students, prospective students, faculty, staff, student employees, guests, visitors, and program participants.

Sexual Misconduct and Education Training

Promoting the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff is Ohio State’s top priority and a responsibility we all share. It’s important for everyone to know how to identify, disrupt and report sexual misconduct. At Ohio State, there is no place for sexual misconduct or violence of any kind. Thank you for doing your part to promote a safe and healthy university community. 

Training for faculty, staff and students is assigned in BuckeyeLearn.

Youth Protection Training

Youth Protection at The Ohio State University is a 30-minute online training that provides guidance for those who are involved in programs or activities with youth/minors. The training is a critical step in understanding the requirements of the Youth Activities and Programs Policy. This is a required training for those with care, custody, or control of minors.
